DOGTEMBER

DOGTEMBER 2025, the biggest dog swimming event in the UK, will run for four weekends, beginning 13/14th September.

There are four 90 minute and one 60 minute Quiet Session at 5pm (which is limited to 100 humans and 50 dogs), each day.

With the exception of the Small Dogs and Large Dogs sessions, all sessions are open to ALL dogs, although we have numerous breed meet-ups, if your dog prefers to be with others like them.  They are listed on our Dog Swimmers Facebook group and on the ticket site.

Our site is totally secure and the only gate is permanently manned so that your dog can be off-lead to run, jump & splash to their heart’s content.   If they’re not confident diving straight into our 40m (heated) pool, with it's wide, shallow steps for easy access, they can play in our gently sloping splash pool with a slide & chaseable water spouts. There's also lots of grass for zoomies.

Dogs are not allowed into the changing rooms & toilets but for your peace of mind, all our stewards are easily identified and will happily look after your dog whilst you’re getting changed.  We have lockers (using £1 coins) in the changing rooms.

There are a great range of stalls, all local businesses, so there’ll be plenty of opportunities to treat your dog, including dog ice cream.

All dogs need a Dog Swim ticket; if you  want to swim with your dog, you’ll need a Human swim ticket, but if you’d prefer to stand poolside and throw a ball (provided), then a swim ticket for them and a spectator ticket for you is fine. For safety reasons, we don’t allow young humans under 16 into the main pool, so they only need a spectator ticket, though they’re welcome in the splashpool (suitably supervised).  If you’re swimming with your dog, we recommend wearing  long sleeves to save your arms from scratches.

On the ticket website, you must choose a human ticket (either swim or spectator) before the Dog ticket option is visible.  Don’t forget that your tickets include free parking in our car parks.

Tickets go quickly, so please don’t wait until the last minute to book.  (Last year we sold out of all human & dog swim tickets for every one of the 40 sessions)

Just a reminder, this event is organised, run and stewarded entirely by volunteers, as a fundraiser for the Saltdean Lido Trust, the registered charity behind the lido.

We look forward to welcoming you to the most fun (& chaotic) days of the year.

Tickets will be on be on sale from 1st May via www.WeGotTickets.com/dog-swim
